The BMW X5 comes in four distinctive trims starting with the entry-level X5 xDrive40i SportX Plus, xDrive30d SportX Plus, xDrive30d Luxury Line and xDrive40i M Sport.

The fourth-generation X5 (Codenamed G05) was introduced in the country on 16 May 2019. Meanwhile, BMW updated the X5 range by adding two new variants in September 2021.

The X5 line-up is powered by six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. First, the xDrive40i trims get a 2,998cc straight-six turbocharged petrol engine that produces 335bhp and 650Nm of torque. Secondly, there is a 2,993cc straight-six turbocharged diesel that is capable of generating 262bhp and 620Nm of torque. Both the motors are coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

This mid-size SUV measures 4,922mm in length and has a 2,975mm wheelbase. Besides, BMW has given it a one-piece kidney grille with flashy chrome trimming and large air inlets in the front bumper. Moreover, it features BMW LaserLight with adaptive headlights and selective beam along with LED DRLs integrated into the air inlets. Also, the SUV gets running boards, roof rails, a two-part boot opening and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.

The X5 has a high-end cockpit available in a variety of shades. BMW offers premium Vernasca leather upholstery for the seats, whereas the fascia wears Sensatec artificial leather. In addition, it comes with two 12.3-inch displays with BMW Live Cockpit Professional and a 16-speaker, 464-watt, Harman Kardon sound system.

Depending on the variant, the X5 is equipped with plenty of features such as adaptive air suspension, powered tailgate, six colours of ambient lighting, heated and anti-dazzle functions for side-view mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone temperature control with individual control unit for the rear seats, BMW display key, heads-up display, parking and reversing assistance, surround-view cameras and attentiveness attention.

The X5 can accommodate five passengers including the driver.

Across its four variants, BMW offers five different paint alternatives such as Arctic Grey, Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black.

The X5 takes on the Mercedes-Benz GLE LWB, Volvo XC90 and Land Rover Discovery.

BMW X5 price starts at ₹ 76.47 Lakh and goes upto ₹ 90.74 Lakh. The price of Diesel version for X5 ranges between ₹ 76.47 Lakh - ₹ 90.31 Lakh and the price of Petrol version for X5 ranges between ₹ 77.90 Lakh - ₹ 90.74 Lakh.
